On a cold March night, Soul Sisters Paranormal traveled to Trinway, Ohio to investigate at, reportedly, one of the most haunted locations in the state. Prospect Place Mansion was built in 1857 by George W Adams, and it was the centerpiece of his 14,500 acre estate. During the Civil War, Prospect Place also became a “station” on the Underground Railroad.
Today, Prospect Place, a 29 room mansion, compete with basement, upstairs ballroom, and an eerie barn area, is run and maintained by the G.W. Adams Education Center. It is also said to be one of the most haunted locations in Ohio due to reports apparitions being seen and voices being heard. Many speculate that these visions and voices belong to former family members of the Adams’ family, as well as servants and slaves that occupied the house.
During our investigation, we deployed many night vision video cameras and voice recorders throughout the house and the barn in an attempt to capture some of these reported claims. Upon review of the audio and video footage that we took that night, we discovered several pieces of evidence for which we have no explanation.
The first EVP in clip #1 was captured during an EVP session in the 3rd story ballroom. Investigator Michelle played a piece of music (a waltz) that she downloaded prior to our arrival at Prospect Place. After the music ended, investigator Kristy ask if anyone in the ballroom liked the music that we had going. The answer, a “no” was spoken by an unknown entity.
The second EVP in clip #2 was captured in the barn on an audio recorder that we left running throughout the night. The barn is the area where it is rumored that a bounty hunter was killed by the staff of Prospect Place when he came looking for runaway slaves. During the silence of the night, our audio recorder picks up a male whisper saying, what we believe is “here he is”. There is no male on the Soul Sisters Paranormal team. Furthermore there were no investigators present in the area during this time.
Clip #3 is a light anomaly that we captured on a night vision video camera that was left to run, unattended in the second story hallway. As you watch, you can see a light appear on the right side wall and travel down the wall away from the camera. There were no investigators present in this area. Additionally, this is an upstairs, interior hallway. While there is a bedroom, with a window, opposite this wall, any light source would have to be higher than that window in order for the light to appear near the floor. Additionally, the closet door in that room is open, which, when open, partially covers the window. There is no explanation that we can come up with that would explain this light.
Clip #4 is the most interesting EVP that we captured that night, and one of the best that we have ever captured. While all investigators were either downstairs or in the basement of the house, the voice recorder that was left to run in an upstairs bedroom picks up a voice saying, what we believe is, “They…here to talk..to us”. The EVP is interesting for a couple of reasons: 1) during the night, we had asked repeatedly for any entity to talk to us; this appears to be in direct response to those requests; 2) the entity says “they here to talk to us”, which seems to indicate that there is more than one spirit present in the house.
Our investigation at Prospect Place proved to be a very interesting investigation indeed. To watch the full video of our investigation, click here.
