When we called The Exchange Hotel and Civil War Medical Museum in Gordonsville, VA we were told that it was one of the most haunted locations in the state. After our investigation there, we have to conclude with that assessment. Below is a summary of our night, along with corresponding audio and video clips of our findings. At this point, we would like to sincerely thank Angel, the administrator at The Exchange, for providing us with background information and history about the building and property, and for being a truly professional ambassador for The Exchange and its historical significance.
During the investigation, we left a voice recorder in a room known as the Bagby room. The voice recorder was placed on the bed in the middle of the room and left alone to run on its own throughout the duration of the investigation. Upon reviewing the voice recorder, we caught numerous EVPs of unexplained voices. Please remember that there are no males on the property and there were certainly no children; keep that in mind as you listen to clips #1-#4. Clip #5 is a clip that was caught on a night vision camera that was set up to run, on its own, it the upstairs bedroom of the Summer Kitchen (although the room looks well lit, it is only the night vision camera that is giving it the glow; this room is completely dark!). The light anomaly that occurs on the wall is one that we cannot explain. Clip #6 is another one that is interesting to us. Before the end of the evening, we asked the administrator of The Exchange if she would do a walk-through with us (we typically ask this at every location that we visit because we feel that any entities present would feel more comfortable with people that are around on a daily basis). Angel, the administrator, being a paranormal investigator herself, had an Ovlius in her arsenal of equipment. An Ovlius is a tool that, in theory, uses changes in energy fields caused by entities trying to communicate and translates that energy into words. Prior to begin the walk through with us, Angel stated that her Ovilus usually only says "a few words" during a night. However, during our walk through, the Ovlius was rapid-firing words at us. Every word that it said was in an electronic tone and manner (think of your GPS on your iPhone when it is giving you directions); however, one word that was said sounded like it had emotion and inflection behind it. That word..."devil". After reviewing the evidence, we are excited about what we experienced at The Exchange. It was an amazing opportunity to visit and to investigation a location with so much history. You can watch the full video of our investigation by clicking here: The Exchange Hotel Video. |
